Charlie and Boris soon found their quiet lives changed to one that was very noisy but exhillarating. They were experiencing all sorts
of new and wonderful things. Their greatest pleasure before going to bed, was to go into the cinema and watching
huge humans getting up to mischief and mayhem, having all together a wonderful time. They had a great choice, with so many cinema screens,
they had no need to watch the same film twice.
Their daytime hours were taken up with watching people prepare the dome for many events.
When these events were taking place, they found prime positions to watch sport, ice shows, concerts etc. Life was so exciting and
wonderful.
They were watching one of these shows in the evening when they overheard someone talking about Hook Norton beer,
this started to make them rather home sick. How they would ever get back to Hooky was something they could not even dream about, let
alone do.
Suddenly they were both surprised by a noise they had heard before, it was a Hook Norton Brewery lorry unloading barrels.
Without even looking at each other, they both ran to it and climbed onboard. They had found a way to get home. But it was still
a long journey to Hooky and with many stops on the way, what adventures would befall them?
After a boring, steady journey out of London
and down the M40, the lorry arrived in Bicester, it was calling in to a Country Fair with supplies for the Beer tent. The
Wumps heard that they would be staying here for a few hours, so they decided to see what Bicester had to offer. The Wumps came
upon a sign for Brookside Primary School and a notice for Stagecoach theatre, drama and dance school. The Wumps could not resist a
chance to smuggle themselves into a class and get some drama and dance lessons. It gave them a good feeling when they found
out it was run by a young lady from their home village of Hook Norton, a neighbour of the Chief Wump. They found dancing
a bit difficult due to their size and so only managed a couple of hours. They had a great time and did learn a great deal.
They
hoped it would be a start to their stage career, at least a debut in an amateur production with the
Hooky Players.
